Today's blog post looks at Saturday's group WOD with CrossFit Snohomish!
CrossFit is: “Constantly varied, functional movements, executed at high intensity.”
The CrossFit program is designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience. We’ve used our same routines for elderly individuals with heart disease and cage fighters one month out from televised bouts. We scale load and intensity; we don’t change programs.
The exercise & movements we do in CrossFit mimic life. They prepare us for the unknown & the unknowable.
The needs of Olympic athletes and our grandparents differ by degree not kind. Our terrorist hunters, skiers, mountain bike riders and housewives have found their best fitness from the same regimen.
When you do a CrossFit workout, you are connecting with thousands of other CrossFitters who are doing the same workout of the day (WOD) as you are! The camaraderie & social interaction with CrossFit is an integral part of the experience! Not only do you have your own group here in our Lake Stevens garage gym, but you have observable, repeatable, data that you can compare with other CrossFitters around the world! The number of CrossFit~Affiliated Gyms has grown from 18 in 2005 to 1,000 as of March 2009.

As CrossFitter’s ~ we rarely do the same workout twice in a six month period. Training this way keeps us from getting bored and helps us work on weaknesses as well as our strengths. As a father, gym owner, & full time Firefighter CrossFit allows me to juggle all my loves in life & still have time for an amazing workout. CrossFit thrives on the movements, the community, and the big picture health benefits it provides, but aesthetics are a no brainer as well! How we look is not what we strive for but rather a by product of our hard work at being truly fit!
